Pre & Post Treatment advice

* Avoid blood thinning medications for 5 days before treatment such as aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen etc. If you are on a prescription for anti-coagulant blood thinng, do not stop taking it without consulting with your doctor. Taking such medications is a contraindiction to be treated.

*Avoid sun exposure 24 hours before and 48 hours after treatment to avoid blood vessel dilation and the formation of brown spots.

* Avoid using oily or alcohol based products, soap or foundation for 24 hrs after. Mineral powders are allowed.

* Apply soothing antiseptic, aloe or cold compress to calm the area if needed.

* Avoid friction and do not touch or scratch the area.

*After five days you may exfoliate and moisturize the area.

*Underarms: Do not use deodorant for 24 hours after treatment.

Possible Side Effects

* Reddening of the treated area

* Slight swelling of the tissue resembling a mosquito bite

* Heat and/or itching sensations

These effects will only last 30 min to a few hours

Here is an example of how Electrolysis/Thermolysis treatments unfold.  After performing a consultation, I, the electrologist disinfects the area to be treated and adjust the parameters on the Apilus based on the area and type of hair to treat. A probe as small as your hair will unnoticeably be sliped into the hair folicle till I feel a slight resistance that lets me know the area to be treated, then an ultrarapid current (the red area) will be administered to caurterize the Capillaries and Germ Cells that aid in the hair growth. I will gently remove the hair with tweezers with no resistance due to treatment.

Due to the different cycles of hair growth, density and the amount of time we can spend in a particular area multiple sessions will be needed to completely and permanently eliminate all hairs in the area of concern which will be discussed in the consulation.
